Work in Canada

Intra-Company Transfers

Move managers and specialists to a Canadian branch or affiliate.

Overview

International companies can transfer executives, senior managers and staff with specialized knowledge to a related Canadian business without an LMIA. The employee generally needs at least one year of continuous full-time work with the company in the last three years, in a similar role.

Who it's for

  • Executives and senior managers of multinational companies
  • Employees with proprietary or specialized company knowledge
  • Companies opening a new office in Canada

How we help

  • We confirm the corporate relationship (parent, branch, subsidiary or affiliate) and document it properly.
  • We help set up start-up office transfers when the Canadian entity is new.
  • We look at open work permits for accompanying spouses.

Program rules, fees and processing times are set by the Government of Canada and change often. Check the official IRCC information page, or ask us for advice on your situation.
